Responsible to:      Head Teacher 

Responsible for:     SEN Primary class KS1/2 

Candidate Profile

A teacher with SEN primary (KS1/2) experience with drive and vision and who is passionate and committed to delivering high quality learning and teaching. Teaching takes place in small classes of 7-8 children with Teaching Assistant (TA) support. Working as part of a committed team, the successful candidate should be able to cater for the diverse needs of our students.

Skills and experience

  • Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) Qualified Teacher Status
  • Experience of planning, delivering and assessing curriculum plans and learning activities appropriate to individuals’ needs and abilities
  • Well organised and able to plan a structured learning environment in Arabic
  • Expertise in special needs and Autism.
  • Practical, creative and inventive.
  • Enthusiastic and energetic.
  • Dynamic and proactive.
  • Contribute to the class/school therapeutic/clinical approach.
  • Manage complex behaviours.
  • Skilled in preparing and delivering an effective, differentiated SEN curriculum at KS1/2

Responsibilities

  • Creating schemes of differentiated curriculum work.
  • Preparing medium term lesson plans.
  • Delivering the curriculum to a class group and supporting students with ASD in Learning activities and personal skills.
  • Keep up to date a child’s individual education plan
  • Take on a curriculum area responsibility relating to the skills and experience you can bring to the role.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and memorable learning experiences,
  • Be part of an integrated skilled therapeutic team, aiming to expand the horizons and improve the skills of young people.
  • Take part in professional development, including positive behaviour programmes.
  • Support children with a variety of Autism needs. Help them build confidence, knowledge and skills to unlock their potential.

Knowledge & SkillsAbility to: Teach in a SEN School for MLD primary aged children (6-12) Demonstrate ‘deep vision’ of good education practice Plan, organise, direct and support lessons in a primary SEN class. Support children in a positive, calm and re-assuring manner. Establish and maintain high quality standards in curriculum planning delivery, pedagogy and assessment.  Work on own initiative to timescales. Utilise a repertoire of problem-solving skills and approaches to support children with SEN, including skills of supporting a young person regulate behaviour. Recognise and take advantage of opportunities to grow and develop professional skills and knowledge Research and apply best international SEN teaching practice to   
ExperienceExperience of working in SEN primary education Experience of creating differentiated resources for children with SEN. Experience of supporting children with individual education plans Experience of using positive behaviour strategies to support young people with autism      Previous teaching experience in a similar teaching role in a SEN primary school
